3. Maintenance: One of the most overlooked parts of a professional website is maintenance. This is making sure your web sites stay up, making changes as needed, and submitting them to Web search engines so they can be found. (Why would you want a web site that is hard to find?)
   
   On a major corporate web site, maintenance can be a huge expense. A recent survey showed that large web sites typically paid between $30,000 and $100,000 per month for web site maintenance. But without it, you might as well not have a web site at all.
