    Perhaps the largest change in the way we do business has been E-Commerce. Nowadays, if you want a book, you can just sit down in front of your computer, visit Amazon.com, and read a large number of reviews (by other readers, not professional critics) before you buy it and have it delivered tomorrow morning. For a lot of us, that beats going to the corner bookstore.

    Now you can do the same thing with cars, appliances, etc. In fact, online shopping is growing faster than any other method--because it's easier and less expensive for everyone.

    Other business is being done over the Internet as well, and it is predicted to save businesses that use it about $1,250,000,000,000 ($1.25 trillion) by 2002.

    E-Commerce is an add-on to a client's web site. Product information can be published cost-effectively and rapidly. The key is to get the word out. List the Web address on all printed matter. Use e-mail as a strategic sales tool.

    The medium is interactive, so a client can browse only the things he/she is interested in. This keeps the client at a high level of excitement. Boredom is a consequence of wading through pages of information that a client is not interested in. The Web allows a client to go directly to the product(s) and/or service(s) that interest him/her.

    Marketing campaigns can be delivered virtually instantaneously. There is a much faster testing cycle time.

    E-Commerce information is always up-to-date. Electronic changes to prices, offers, etc., can be made at will.
