The World Wide Web is taking over business. It's a sign of the times that your business isn't considered serious any more unless you have your own domain name (such as www.technitronweb.com). A web site is becoming nearly as important as a well-designed business card.

The rate of domain name registrations has increased rapidly. In 1994, the first year it was really the World Wide Web, only 24,000 domain names were registered; four years later, 1.9 million new domain names were registered (source: Network Solutions, Inc.) In fact, as of May, 1999, there were only about 3,000 English words that had not been used with a .com (out of over 200,000 available). The possible web sites available with these words included such classics as afreet.com and taratara.com.

Maybe it's because there is a cost savings associated with using the Internet for business. But whatever the reason, it's clear that the World Wide Web is here to stay. A web site is the must-have marketing product of the coming millennium.
